Dear Families,

Thanks for making last week so special! We loved seeing so many of you on the field trips, PTO meetings, volunteer breakfast, Comet Pride Ceremony, and Field Day! What a week!

We are looking forward to our final week of school together. Thank you again for making this a great year at Skyview. We are grateful for your partnership, trust, and involvement!

🏫 School Updates

Tuesday: Comet Pride (Grades 3-4)

Comet Pride for grades 3-4 starts at 8:15 on Tuesday in the gym.

Wednesday: Books & Chromebooks Due & 5th Grade Continuation

Please return all Skyview library books and Chromebooks to Mr. Pearson by Wednesday. 

 

5th Grade Continuation is on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the gym.

Thursday: Kinder Continuation & Last Day of School

Kindergarten Continuation is from 8:30 to 9:30 in the gym. 

 

Thursday is a regular school day. Summer starts at 2:35!

 

Friday: No School – Happy Summer!

We wish you a fun and safe summer. See you back at Skyview on Tuesday, August 11th.

What is your position at Skyview, and how long have you worked at Skyview?

Learning Specialist first year 

 

What is your hometown and state?

Thornton, CO 

 

What college/university did you attend? What did you study?

New Mexico State University Elementary Education 

 

What is a favorite elementary school memory?

GT Culture Day 

 

What do you like to do outside of school?

Sit at the pool, go to Rockies games (even though they're terrible), spend time with my family 

 

What else should we know about you?

I love chocolate sans nuts, cherry diet coke, and sparkling water. I'm also getting married in September at Pirate Fest in Northglenn. 

Jason Shiroff

What is your position at Skyview, and how long have you worked at Skyview?

I’m finishing my first year as the proud principal of Skyview.

 

What is your hometown and state?

I’m a Colorado native, born and raised in Denver.

 

What college/university did you attend? What did you study?

My undergraduate degree is from CU-Boulder. I studied Environmental Population and Organismic Biology, plus Peace and Conflict Studies. My master’s degree is in Educational Psychology from CU-Denver.

 

What is a favorite elementary school memory?

In 4th grade, I had an exchange teacher from Australia, Mr. Dawes. He taught us all about the continent and shared great stories of the land, people, and animals. Mr. Dawes motivated me to be curious about the world.

 

What do you like to do outside of school?

I love to run, bike, exercise, read, listen to music, spend time in nature, and travel. Doing these things with my family is even better!

 

What else should we know about you?

My daughter is 20 and studies at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. My son is 17 and will be a senior at East High School next year.

Colorado Gives Day

What is Colorado Gives Day? Over the years, Colorado Gives Day has evolved into the biggest 24-hour giving movement in the state, bringing in over $500 million since its inception in 2010. Each year, the people of Colorado unite with a shared common purpose: to elevate their community and neighbors by fueling the efforts of nonprofits that make a meaningful change.
