We are so excited to launch our year together on Tuesday morning! For the first day of school, we are all starting on the field and cheering our students into the building. See the details below and join us for the cheer tunnel on Tuesday morning!

🎉 Good Things

• Thanks to all the families that joined us on Back to School Night yesterday! It was so great to see our families again!
• Our PTO is off to a strong start this year. Be sure to check out upcoming PTO events listed at the bottom of this newsletter. We have so many great spirit nights, community events, and more planned this semester. Everyone is welcome at PTO, and we need help to make our school even better. 
• We want to thank all our staff, from our amazing facilities team, teachers, office staff, cafeteria team, and more, for preparing for a great first day. Our classrooms look great, and we are ready for your children to have a strong start at Skyview. 

🏫 School Updates

Tuesday: Parade and Arrival Details

Start the year with a burst of Skyview spirit! On the first day of school, we will celebrate our students with our beloved First Day Parade. All classes will line up on the grass behind the school and parade through the recess doors. Check out this map to see where to line up.  Come cheer on our students as they walk into a brand new year!
Tuesday: Boo Hoo Breakfast for Kindergarten Families

Dropping off your kindergartner for the very first time? Join us in the library from 8:00-8:30 for our Boo-Hoo Breakfast. Its an opportunity for Kindergarten families to gather, share a cup of coffee, and support one another on this big milestone morning. We’ll also answer questions and talk about how you can get involved in our school community.

Wednesday: Arrival Details

• 🚗 Morning drop-off details: Breakfast is free for all students and starts at 7:40 for all students. Students in grades 2-5 enter the cafeteria doors for breakfast. Kindergartners and 1st graders enter the building from the front door. If your student is not eating breakfast, they will enter the building at these doors:
  • K-1: Front Door
  • 2-3: Recess Doors
  • 4-5: Door # 15

 

• Just like a business, Skyview is closed to students until 7:40. Morning supervision begins at 7:40. For your child’s safety, please remain with your child until staff comes outside to supervise at 7:40. No students should be dropped off outside before 7:40. Football and roughhousing will not be permitted before school.

 

Here is a map of our drop-off locations. We will use these locations starting on Wednesday, August 12th.

🏦Online Payment Update

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to ensure families are aware that the district will transition from PayForIt to PaySchoolsCentral for online school-related payments.

Please note that meal payments will still be made through SchoolCafé. PaySchools Central will be used for other applicable school payments, including fees and other school-related items.

To help communicate this change, please include the information below in your school newsletter or other family communications:

Beginning with the upcoming school year, Adams 12 Five Star Schools will transition from PayForIt to PaySchools Central for online school-related payments. Families will use PaySchools Central to make applicable school payments, including fees and other school-related items. Meal payments will continue to be made through SchoolCafé. Additional information and instructions will be shared with families before the start of the school year.

An important reminder for families: Username and Password will remain the same; however, they must provide a valid form of payment in PaySchoolsCentral.  

We ask that you familiarize yourself with this new platform before the new school year begins as this will be where you will see and pay for any student fees.  This will be our primary way of paying fees as cash and check handling will be limited in our school.

It’s Easy to Support Skyview 

King Soopers/City Market Reward Program

Skyview can receive a donation every time you shop at King Soopers at no cost to you. Simply go to http://www.kingsoopers.com or for City Market Stores - go to http://www.citymarket.com. Once logged in, search for Skyview Elementary School either by name or YX222 and then click Enroll. New users will need to create an account, which requires some basic information, a valid email address, and a loyalty card.

Colorado Gives Day

What is Colorado Gives Day? Over the years, Colorado Gives Day has evolved into the biggest 24-hour giving movement in the state, bringing in over $500 million since its inception in 2010. Each year, the people of Colorado unite with a shared common purpose: to elevate their community and neighbors by fueling the efforts of nonprofits that make a meaningful change.
