I am very excited to be coming on board as a School Social Worker at Skyview, partnering with the Special Education and Mental Health Team members to support the students and staff. I’m coming from a lengthy time working at a Residential and Day Treatment facility for children ages 5-12, which has a facility school on site. I’ve spent the last 17 years in various roles, but always involved with consulting, educating, supporting and working directly with students in the school environment.
I landed in Colorado during my graduate school internship while pursuing my Masters in Social Work at Smith College School for Social Work. I was sent to Denver to intern in two Elementary Schools in Cherry Creek Public School District and I fell in love with Colorado on my first day and never left. I grew up in Michigan and attended Michigan State University for my undergraduate degree in Psychology and still return to Michigan often to visit family. My husband and I met in Colorado and we have three amazing kids, a five year old son and twin two year old daughters. It’s a busy life! We love to spend time at my husband’s pizza restaurant in North Denver/Highlands, be outdoors, and just play! I am eager to become part of this school community and look forward to meeting, collaborating, and consulting with you all.
